What To Do When You’re Detoxing

You’ve got a drug test coming up. You have a week (ish) or more before you’ve got to go, and you’re not peeing clean. The safest bet in this situation is to get a CLEANSING PROGRAM

Cleansing programs will actually clean you out, so you can just go in and hand in your urine sample with no fuss. Cleansing programs work to lower your toxin levels. Be aware that, depending on how much is in your system, it might not get you all the way to clean, and you might have to try other things with it.

With the cleansing programs, taking the pills is only half the battle. You must match your lifestyle to the program. That means avoiding anything your body is going to try to detox (cigarettes, alcohol, fast food, etc), drinking LOTS of water and eating healthy.

THC is low on your body’s priority list of toxins to get rid of (hence why it takes so long to get out of your system). So it’s very important not to add new things to your body to try to detox.

So, aside from all the things you should avoid, what do you want to be doing while you're detoxing? Drinking water is extremely important; you want to be drinking an uncomfortable amount of water. Sweating is good. Sleeping is good. Eating healthy is good.

What kind of foods should you be eating?

Avoiding highly processed foods with lots of sugar and fat is definitely a good idea. DON’T eat McDonald's every meal while you’re trying to detox. Avoid refined sugars, so all that sweet syrup has got to go.  Drink lots of Water and mix with REAL cranberry, grape or lemon juice to help detox.

Try to eat foods that are high in fibre.  The high fibre can help clean out our intestines, and with lots of water is good to push things out of our bodies. High fibre foods include:

  • Apple
  • Avacados
  • Pears
  • Broccoli
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Corn
  • Whole Wheats
  • Legumes
  • Tree Nuts
  • and many more, just look it up on the internet

What you want to be eating is basically lean meats and lots of vegetables.

Here’s a list of some good diuretic veggies to eat while you’re detoxing:

  • Lemons
  • Celery
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Bell Peppers
  • Watermelon
  • Cucumbers
  • Ginger
  • Grapes
  • Asparagus
  • Pineapple
  • Beets
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Cranberry Juice (the real stuff, not Ocean Spray)
  • Peaches
  • Kale

These veggies will help make you pee more, which is always good when you’re detoxing.

If you don't have time for a cleansing program, consider using a masking drink or synthetic urine, which can be found here:
